Dress Codes

Dancewear is required for all classes (except for hip hop). Dancers must wear comfortable form fitted dancewear to display proper body alignment and allow for easy movement and corrections. NO BAGGY T-SHIRTS, blue jeans, jewelry or STREET CLOTHES will be allowed of any kind in our dance rooms. Stud earrings may be worn but nothing hanging or hoops. Dress codes are put in place not only for the safety of our dancers, but for the discipline of the sport.

COMBO CLASS and BUSY BEE'S DANCE PROGRAM (Dancers age 6 and under)

Attire for our dancers 6 and under is more flexible and fun! We would like them in dance clothes and NO STREET CLOTHES. They can wear tutu's, leotards, tights, chiffon dance skirts, one piece tutu dresses, Solid colored leggings and sweats (NO printed leggings), and fitted dance tops. No loose fitting tee shirts. Hair must be in a bun or ponytail with no hair hanging in the face. Please use a bun cover or hair net to secure their bun.

BALLET SHOES: Pink is preferred for girls and black is preferred for boys but any color that they feel comfortable in will be the best choice.

TAP SHOES: Any tap shoe is great. The slip-on tap shoe is best. If you purchase the tie shoe then it’s great to replace the ties with elastic bands/buttons.

TUMBLING: barefoot or socks or their ballet shoes is fine.

JAZZ SHOES: You can use their ballet shoes or any slip on jazz shoe is fine.

LEVEL I/IA BALLET CLASSES

Dancers will wear pink tights, black leotard and pink Capezio or Bloch brand ballet shoes with all of the strings knotted and tucked under so they are neat. NO SKIRTS and NO TUTUS for the recreational students ages 7 and above. Hair must be put back in a slick bun with no wispy hairs and the use of a hair net is required. The boys will wear black tights or solid black sweatpants, a fitted white tee shirt and black canvas ballet shoes. We respect all children’s gender identity so please feel free to wear any of the above dress code that your dancer feels comfortable in.

PLEASE NOTE: YouTube puts out some great tutorials on buns. I recommend the “How to make the perfect ballet bun” by Bloch.

BALLET LEVEL II/III and all 90 MINUTE BALLET CLASSES
